QUESTIONS & ANSWERS: Who are you? I’m a twenty-six years old and work in Special Education in Los Angeles, California. I earned my undergraduate degrees in English and Communications from the University of Michigan. What do you do in Special Education? I teach in a Jr. High classroom of inner-city boys who have been expelled from Public School for behavioral problems. My job is challenging but rewarding. I am passionate and love my students more than anything.   Who’s organizing this project? I am! I am not using a fancy volunteering company that charges ridiculous amounts to volunteer. I am working directly with orphanages cutting out middlemen.  What will you be doing? Working with orphans and street-kids. Teaching English, doing laundry, whatever they need me to do I’ll do it!  Will I get to see the work you do? Yes! This site will be updated with photos, vidblogs and blog posts so you can see your donation in action.  Are you rich? How can you do this? I wish! I am moving back home in Michigan with Mom & Dad to work a service job and save money. Frugality at it’s humble finest!  How long will you be doing this? Until I run out of money. My hopes are for at least one year.  How can I help? Donate! Reblog! Spread the word!  This sounds great - can I join too? I would love a travel partner, even if it’s just for a portion! I am saving my own money for airfare, visas, travel insurance and side trips. The money you donate will be added to the thousands I saved and handed to an orphanage that will be giving me food and shelter in return for my time and a small donation, which you will be helping me give to them. Your money is going to the hands, minds and futures of needy children and the orphanages that are available to shelter and feed them. There are an estimated 132 million orphans and abandoned children in the world.
